Application Steps

1. Application

Complete an online application at www.cerra.org . You will need to email humanresources@colletonsd.org when your application is complete.

2. Transcripts

Request an official transcript from all colleges/universities attended. Official transcripts MUST be mailed directly to Human Resources.

3. References

Three (3) references are required from your immediate supervisors. Your references may include principals or supervising/peer teachers. These references should be listed on your application with complete and correct addresses, phone numbers, and zip codes.

4. College Placement Files

If you are a first-year teacher, the district will accept your placement file in lieu of the three reference forms and official transcripts. Recommendations from your supervising teacher for student teaching and a professor of the college of education are required.

5. Certification

Furnish a copy of your South Carolina Teaching Certificate with your application. If you do not have a certificate, but have applied for one, include a copy of your statement of eligibility or any other pertinent correspondence from the South Carolina Department of Education. You may still apply at this time even if you have not applied for certification by contacting us at:

6. Screening Interview

Before you can interview at any district school, you must have a screening interview at Human Resources. Screening interviews are scheduled based on applicant qualifications and district needs. Our office will contact you if you are selected for a screening interview. If you have not been notified within two months from date your application was submitted, please feel free to contact our office to check on the status of your application.
